December 6th: William will present Afghanistan service medals to Irish Guards soldiers at Aldershot. Meanwhile, the Catherine will visit Shooting Star House Children’s Hospice in Hampton, Middlesex. The Duchess will tour the facilities, view a music therapy session and have tea with some of the children and their families.
December 11th: The couple will attend the screening of David Attenborough’s NaturalHistoryMuseum Alive 3D film. The Duke and Duchess will attend a reception with film’s producers, meet Sir David and watch the film. Kate is patron of the National History Museum, London.
Catherine arrived at St. Andrews at the age of 19, if I’m not mistaken.
Kate is said to have dated Rupert Finch during her first year. Finch was 22 when Kate arrived at St Andrews as a 19-year-old History of Art undergraduate. He was sporty and popular and a member of the University Cricket Squad.
Kate lived in St Salvador’s, the same halls of residence as William, mixed but segregated into all-male and all-female floors. In her own words, when Kate first met William she “went bright red and sort of scuttled off, feeling very shy about meeting [him].”
Jules Knight was part of the couple’s circle of friends while at St Andrews University, in Scotland. Knight remembers Kate being an extremely diligent student.
"I met Kate very early on," he says. "She studied Art History and she was a clever girl."
"She was a hard worker and committed and she obviously really applied herself to the academic side of university and was well behaved."
In March 2002, Kate modelled a sheer black lace dress in a University fashion show. William, who had paid £200 for the best seat in the house, was reported to have had the sudden realization that “Kate’s hot!”
In the first half on 2002, Kate was credited with persuading the Prince to continue his studies when he considered quitting as he struggled to adjust to St. Andrew’s during his first year.
In September 2002, William and Kate move into a flat with two other friends, Etonian Fergus Boyd and Olivia Bleasdale. They supposedly paid £100 a week in rent for the two-story property and shared all the cleaning duties.
Julian Knight lived down the street from Prince William in their second year studying at the University of St Andrews, in the small Scottish town, and saw first-hand Kate and William’s early years as a couple: “They were always spending time together, going down to Anstruther to go banana boating or playing golf or going for a walk,”
The first picture is taken of Prince William together with Kate Middleton on a shooting party at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
In June 2003, Clarence House denies that William is romantically involved with close friend Jecca Craig, the daughter of wealthy conservationists based in Kenya. Also in June, Kate attends William’s 21st birthday party at Windsor Castle. William insisted in an interview to mark his birthday that he did not have a steady girlfriend.
In September 2003, William, Kate and their two flatmates move into a cottage for their third year.
It is believed that Kate and William started dating around Christmas 2003.
In March 2004, William and Kate’s romance is exposed after they are pictured on the ski slopes of Klosters together. Clarence House does not deny they are dating.
According to an (unnamed) source who supposedly went to St. Andrews, Kate was level-headed during the early months of their relationship. “…Even though she had secured the most sought-after boy in St. Andrews, she never gloated… She was very sweet and very shy.”
During the summer of 2004, Catherine attended the Blenheim Palace Game Fair and modeled for the clothing company Really Wild.
For their fourth year, William and Catherine moved into a privative cottage alone. Catherine became famous, and credited with always being polite to the photographers that chased her constantly and quickly adopted the Royal rule of not speaking out to the press. Her family has also never discussed her relationship with William publicly.
In March, Kate joined Prince Charles in Klosters for his pre-wedding holiday.
On June 23, 2005, Catherine and William graduate from St. Andrews University.
